Xtream Codes IPTV API Explained: Portal URLs, Username Credentials & Advantages

### What Is the Xtream Codes API? The Xtream Codes API is the industry-standard client-server communication protocol utilized by high-performance media players such as IBO Player, TiviMate, IPTV Smarters Pro, and XCIPTV. Rather than loading an unwieldy 50-megabyte static text file containing tens of thousands of URLs, client applications use the API to query the server dynamically via JSON endpoints. ### Key Advantages of the Xtream Codes Protocol 1. **Lightweight & Rapid Loading:** The player fetches only category names initially, downloading specific channel stream URLs only when you select that category. This eliminates app freezing on memory-constrained devices like Fire TV sticks. 2. **Dynamic EPG Synchronization:** XMLTV electronic program guide listings, episode numbers, and channel icons synchronize automatically without manual file uploads. 3. **Structured VOD Organization:** Movies and series box sets are neatly cataloged with cover posters, cast lists, release years, and synopsis information fetched directly from TMDB metadata. 4. **Account Self-Diagnostics:** Players can display your exact subscription expiration date, maximum permitted connections, and active server status directly within the user interface. ### How to Input Xtream Codes Credentials In your player app, select **Add User > Xtream Codes API**: * **Server URL:** `http://stream.saidiptv.com:8080` * **Username:** `your_username` * **Password:** `your_password` Once entered, your streaming client establishes an authenticated session, downloads your complete channel guide, and configures hardware decoders for instant playback.
